Phlunte Riddle
LA Fire Justice Team
Psy.D

Dr. Phlunte’ (Falunta) Riddle is a trailblazing leader whose career reflects a lifelong commitment to service and community. She spent nearly 30 years with the Pasadena Police Department, where she broke barriers as the first African-American female sergeant, lieutenant, and sworn Adjutant to the Chief of Police. Beyond law enforcement, she served as District Director for the 41st Assembly District and later as a governor-appointed Commissioner with California’s Department of Juvenile Justice, championing education and mental health for youth. A psychologist, professor, and consultant, Dr. Riddle continues guiding leaders and uplifting voices to create safer, stronger communities.

Why did you join the LA Fire Justice team?

After the devastating Altadena/Pasadena (DENA) wildfires, I became a passionate advocate for survivors, including vetting attorneys to represent our community. I chose to partner with LA Fire Justice due to their extensive wildfire experience and tangible commitment to our community. They demonstrated this by opening a local Pasadena office with a five-year lease, hiring local representatives, and investing directly in the community. Their wise decision to hire former Assemblymember Chris Holden, author of the crucial AB 1054 (which holds Southern California Edison accountable and prevents their bankruptcy), further solidified my choice. My commitment is to only work with those who serve our community with dignity and respect, which is exactly why I chose LA Fire Justice.
