Valorie was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, where her passion for philanthropy and community service began at an early age. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, San Bernardino. Valorie is committed to uplifting and strengthening the communities she serves while supporting, empowering, and building meaningful connections with her peers. Her dedication to service reflects her passion for creating positive change and making a lasting impact in the lives of others.

Why did you join the LA Fire Justice team?

Why LA Fire Justice? After looking into the different organizations supporting those impacted by the Eaton Fire, LA Fire Justice felt like the right choice for me. Altadena has always been a safe space for me, so watching the fires devastate the community left me feeling heartbroken and hopeless. Being able to contribute to an organization that was created by and for the community to support those directly impacted by the fire is an incredible honor. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of something rooted in community, resilience, and the commitment to helping Altadena rebuild and heal.

What is your favorite thing to do in LA?

My favorite thing about Los Angeles is how you can experience so many different places all in one day. One minute you’re by the beach, and the next you’re hiking in the mountains. I love exploring all over Los Angeles and seeing what each area has to offer. But being from South Central, I have to say it’s the greatest area of the city to me.
