Patricia is an award-winning public relations and media strategist with over 25 years of experience in strategic communications for complex legal and policy matters. A bilingual former journalist from Brownsville, Texas, she specializes in Latino media, litigation communications, and crisis management. Her journalism background at La Opinión, The Press-Enterprise, and The Brownsville Herald gives her unique insight into courtroom dynamics. A proud Texas Ex and UT Austin Journalism graduate, Patricia is dedicated to advancing justice, equity, and meaningful impact in underserved communities through clear, compelling messaging and strategic advocacy.

Why did you join the LA Fire Justice team?

I joined the LA Fire Justice team because I’m passionate about using strategic communications to advance justice, equity, and safety for underserved communities most affected by fires. I want to amplify the voices of those facing systemic challenges and support meaningful advocacy that makes a real difference. I have always valued using communication to inform, empower, and serve communities.

What is your favorite thing to do in LA?

I love exploring LA’s vibrant neighborhoods and cultural scene, especially connecting with Latino communities and supporting local arts, food, and events. I enjoy discovering new corners of the city and celebrating the creativity, resilience, and diversity of its people. Plus, Southern California’s sunny weather beats Texas heat and humidity any day.
